The Milford Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a commercial district revitalization organization dedicated to improving the economic viability, beauty and historic significance of the DDA District. The DDA closely follows the nationally recognized model for downtown revitalization: The National Main Street Center, an arm of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. This is accomplished by concentrating our efforts on public improvements through urban design and ordinance language, private developments, economic restructuring and business recruitment and retention.

Milford Market Study

Village of Milford, Michigan
The Village of Milford, through its Downtown Development Authority, retained the Strategic Edge to conduct a market analysis of potential need for retail uses. The geography of the downtown area is roughly Main Street from Huron to the south to the TRW site to the north, including the adjacent portions of the surrounding side and cross streets. The trade area was defined based on the zip code of the downtown patrons as determined by the intercept surveys. The trade area for Downtown Milford extends north to just north of White Lake Road, east to Union Lake Road, south to I-96, west to approximately 1 mile west of the Oakland/Livingston county line. Downtown Milford has an upscale and growing trade area. Patrons overwhelmingly like the ambiance, "quaint, charming, cute" nature of downtown. The specific retail draws of the downtown are its jewelry stores and clothing stores and restaurants. Dining and fine dining are a particularly important component of Milford.
