If you think the Downtown Milford annual summer Sidewalk Sales are only about Milford shopping, try bringing the whole family for a great time! A Downtown Milford tradition for over 50 years, the Sidewalk Sales—locally known as Shop, Rock and Stroll—offer something for everyone in the family.
While you snag some bargains offered by the participating stores, the kids will enjoy blow-up rides, rock climbing walls, sumo wrestling, and other entertainment. When you’re hungry, treat yourself to great food from the many Downtown Milford restaurants that offer their fare on Main Street, including the Five Lakes Grill, O’Callaghan’s, Gravity, Main Street Bar and Grill, and Coratti’s on Main. Then relax to the sounds of live music provided by local groups in the Main Street tent. Artists Showcase Their Work
The August Milford Memories festival gives the vibrant and committed Milford art community a chance to present their finest work for viewing and purchase by visitors from all over. The Art in the Village show in Downtown Milford has steadily grown in size over the years and has a reputation as one of the most popular shows in the nation, as rated by the Sunshine Artist magazine. Fine arts and crafts of all kinds are on display—painting, sculpture, glass, jewelry, beadwork, needlecrafts, leather work, and many other media. Milford’s prominent art galleries and other business and community sponsors play key roles in supporting area artists and in making possible this widely known art show, which draws an estimated 100,000 visitors to Downtown Milford over three days in August.
Combined with strolling entertainment, fine dining opportunities, great shopping, a Civil War reenactment, canoe racing on the Mill Pond, music, dancing, film festival, and other planned events, the Art in the Village show makes the Milford Memories festival one of the most memorable events in southeast Michigan. Be sure to reserve the second full weekend in August for Milford Memories and Art in the Village. | | Classic Cars on Display | | | Scheduled for the third Sunday in September, the Milford Car Show—a regular Downtown Milford event for over 20 years—typically involves over 350 participants and attracts thousands of visitors from all over Michigan. Whether you’re an car lover or not, you can admire the beauty and craftsmanship of the classic cars on parade at the annual Downtown Milford Classic Car Show. This annual event showcases vehicles of all kinds: cars from the 1900s, hot rods, motorcycles, and the classic Mustangs, Corvettes, T-Birds, and Camaros. Participants vie for Best of Show, Fuzzbuster, pre-war, and postwar awards, making for an exciting time for all.
Hosted by the Milford Business Association, the Milford Classic Car Show is really about more than cars—it’s another opportunity for Downtown Milford business owners to put out the welcome mat and show off the Village of Milford at its autumn best. Decked out in its fall colors, Downtown Milford provides the backdrop against which the classic cars shine and sparkle. You’ll appreciate the soft breezes that waft through Downtown Milford as you stroll among the stores and stop in for refreshments at the conveniently located Downtown Milford restaurants.

| | Everyone Loves a Parade | | | Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and the Saturday after Thanksgiving are special days in Downtown Milford. Annually on these days, Downtown Milford visitors are treated to colorful parades full of marchers, stirring music, and local presenters. Every Memorial Day, Milford honors its veterans with a Memorial Day parade sponsored by the American Legion and featuring local veterans’ organizations. And no celebration of America’s Independence Day is complete without the brassy and spirited Fourth of July parade down Milford’s Main Street, sponsored by the Milford Historical Society and showcasing school bands and local sports and community organizations.
What better way to open the Christmas holiday season with the annual Christmas parade sponsored by the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce, with strolling entertainment and special promotions. Bring the children to visit with Santa in the afternoon and finish off your day with a meal at one of Milford’s fine restaurants.
