Milford Market Study

  Village of Milford, Michigan
The Village of Milford, through its Downtown Development Authority, retained the Strategic Edge to conduct a market analysis of the existing business mix and potential demand for specific retail uses. The geography of the downtown area is roughly Main Street from Washington (one block south of Huron) to the Mill Pond on North Milford Road, including the adjacent commercial properties of the surrounding side and cross streets. The trade area was defined based on the zip code of the downtown patrons as determined by the intercept surveys and is defined as:  North to just north of White Lake Road, east to Union Lake Road, south to I-96, west to approximately 1 mile west of the Oakland/Livingston county line.

Downtown Milford has an upscale and growing trade area. Patrons overwhelmingly like the ambiance, "quaint, charming, cute" nature of downtown. The specific retail draws of the downtown are its jewelry stores and clothing stores and restaurants. Dining and fine dining are a particularly important component of Milford.
